Training on Sediment Quality – Dr. Shiela Mae Santander-De Leon

Sediment quality is one of the health indicators that is heavily affected by pollution brought by anthropogenic causes in forms of marine trash and coastal aquaculture. It is very important to monitor the health of these habitats, to come up with effective solutions and balance the use and disuse of resources (i.e., fallow period for aquaculture). This way, resources are allowed to recover and regenerate, thereby increasing overall productivity in aquatic environments.
